Deep knowledge of the local terrain and its grapes, born from a longstanding bond with the world of Valpolicella, has enabled Pietro Zardini to rapidly garner acclaim from critics and markets alike. Today, the grapes harvested from the 10 hectares of vineyards he oversees are processed in the recently expanded cellar, which provides ample space and time for the vinification of each varietal. In his appellation wines, Pietro seeks a style deeply rooted in tradition, expressed in an elegant and harmonious profile. The Leone Zardini Amarone drew on the 2017 harvest for a complex aromatic profile, with fruit compote finding freshness in balsamic bursts and underbrush. Lengthy aging in barrels of various sizes has brought harmony and depth, and in the mouth, the wine reveals its richness, firmness, and a pronounced personality. The Amarone Pietro Junior, on the other hand, goes more in on fruit, which emerges sweet and fleshy on the palate, where it exhibits nice density and tension.
