Roccolo Grassi

Description

Since the late 1890s, Marco and Francesca Sartori have diligently operated their family business in Valpolicella and Soave. The property, which spans some 17 hectares in the Mezzane valley, hosts primarily Valpolicella's historic grapes, with an additional hectare dedicated to garganega. Meticulous vineyard management and winemaking make for a top-tier range of wines. The Amarone '18 aptly expresses the house style, one characterized by clear aromatics, the centrality of fruit, and a firm palate. Dark cherry plays the leading role, leaving the background to spices and mineral nuances. In the mouth, it's compact, even fruitier and denser, finding suppleness and tension in its vital acidic thrust. The Valpolicella of the same vintage follows the same path, but exhibits greater tension and vigor.
