At this well-established Oltrepò winery, Flavia Marazzi is increasingly involved alongside her father Fabio in leading the winery with determination. The activities focus on three main projects, each representing a distinct family passion. The first involves Metodo Classico, which undergoes a prolonged stay on the lees (the esteemed Roccapietra brand). The second project centers on Buttafuoco, a traditional red wine available in three different versions (recently inducted into the Club del Buttafuoco Storico). Lastly, great emphasis is placed on riesling italico, a native white variety. Fabio and Flavia aim to promote it as a still wine with a distinct character. The Cruasé Roccapietra '17 unveils pronounced citrusy sensations, combined with hints of maple and Granny Smith apple; it has fine beading and a well-sustained aciditya truly excellent drink. The Vigna Pianlong '19 once again proves itself to be a substantive Buttafuoco Storico, vibrant, full-bodied, persistent, dark, playing on notes of pencil lead, incense, underbrush, currant, and bark; the palate is smooth, linear, precise, and long. The multifaceted, complex Roccapietra Zero '17 also delivers.
