Giancarlo Pacenti began working in the winery established by his father Siro in the 1980s at a very young age. He had a clear vision and quickly became a benchmark for other producers, receiving widespread acclaim from international critics and wine lovers alike. The winery operates in two main areas: the original in Pelagrilli (in the north) and the other in Piancornello (to the south). The wines introduced this year distinctly bear Giancarlo's mark. He was among the first to bring small casks to Montalcino, though not exclusively; his wines are authentic, well-crafted, and consistently express their varietal and territorial characteristics. The Brunello Pelagrilli '18 is exemplary, broad and complex on the nose, with intense and mature fruity hints, balsamic, a touch of iron and spices. The palate is full and juicy, packed with close-knit, silken tannins that are well extracted.
