Lombardy native Gian Mario Bongini came to Marche for another wine project but ended up falling head over heels in love with the Castelli di Jesi and verdicchio. As a result, he purchased a seven-hectare vineyard with multiple exposures in the countryside of Serra De' Conti. For vinification, he relies on the nearby, well-equipped Col di Corte winery, with which he also shares the consultancy of winemaker Claudio Caldaroni. The style favors the fresher and more linear aspects of the grape: slightly early harvest to preserve acidity, spontaneous fermentations in stainless steel, no malolactic fermentation. The wines follow suit. The Insieme '22, obtained from the northwest-facing part of the vineyard, exhibits a clear nose of citrus, rain-washed pebbles, and white fruits, sensations followed by a taut, brackish palate. All the other grapes end up in the Insieme '22, which expresses sensations of anise, green apple, wild fennel in an exhilarating, almost penetrating palate.
