Terre da Vino is comprised of 180 member growers, a group that cultivates over 300 hectares of vineyards. Founded in 1980, the cooperative inaugurated a new facility in 2000. The vineyards adhere to principles of integrated pest management, with a portion either certified organic or currently being converted to organic. The winery produces more than 30 different wines, thus embracing the whole region and its various appellations, from Barolo to Gavi, Alta Langa and Roero. The Barbera d'Asti Superiore La Luna e i Falò is genuinely superb. On the nose it plays splendidly on notes of fleshy cherry and a well-measured, sweet spiciness imparted by oak. Delicate and multifaceted, the bouquet culminates in a palate of great balance, full bodied and flavorful, ending in a long, warm finish. The Barolo Essenza '19 also excels; complex with spices, raspberries, and blackberries, it has a refined yet vibrant palate, where its tannins mellow, leading to a fresh, lively finish. The other wines tasted also impress.
