At this historic Barolo winery, Federica and Mirko carry on a tradition that melds the founder's surname, Voerzio, with that of the current owners, Martini. The duo has recently expanded their holdings with additional parcels in the Cerequio cru in La Morra and one in Monvigliero in Verduno, thus enriching an already multifaceted portfolio. Now with over twelve hectares under vines, they offer not only Barolo, but also Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera D'Alba, Dolcetto D'Alba, Langhe Freisa, and Langhe Arneis. The Martini family now expertly manages this small winery in La Morra. The heart of production still lies in their Barolo crus, which maintain their top-tier rankings. The Monvigliero owes its elegance to its varietal underpinnings and to the cool, rainy 2018 harvest; noble aromas of licorice, tobacco, and pepper combine with the gentle austerity of its tanninstangible proof of the wine's quality. The La Serra is less elegant, particularly in terms of its tannic weave.
