VINEYARD | The single vineyard from which the grapes hail is both company history and legacy. Planted by Siro Pacenti in the early 1970s, these two hectares of vines stands out on the north side of the Montalcino area. Bottled only in the best vintages, this Riserva di Brunello provides for an ageing of the grapes in barriques for about 24 months, then a long rest in the bottle. Over time we have always appreciated its rigorous and refined character, the song of a special place.
PERSON | Siro Pacenti bottled his first Brunello in 1988 and in the same year his son Giancarlo joined the company. It is he who runs the family cellar with tenacity and competence, adding to the Pelagrilli vineyards, north of Montalcino, those of Piancornello on the southern slope, including a five-hectare vineyard planted in the 1960s by his grandfather. Over the years he has combined modernity, originality and tradition and a very precise territorial definition according to the vineyard of origin.
WINE | A Brunello that perfectly embodies the classic winery's style and is linked to the typical features of the denomination. Still young, in full development, the wine fills the nose with aromas of black fruits, undergrowth and balsamic nuances, accentuated by elegant oak notes. In the mouth it is no less, it actually confirms the youthful and nervous character with well-smoothed but present tannins, which provide for an austere and fascinating sip, gently rhythmic, in which the fruity and undergrowth sensations return. Very long finish.
